Grace

As a newborn, Grace was abandoned in a Greyhound bus station bathroom. Her fragile body shook from the effects of meth and heroin. Thanks to a stranger’s call to 911, Grace made it to the hospital where she was nursed back to health. No one ever came for Grace.

Today, Grace excels in school and is thriving with her new family. She also enjoys playing with her dog, Snowball.

Every 15 minutes, a baby like Grace enters the child protection system.

The Center for the Rights of Abused Children helps infants like Grace. Our work has extended Safe Haven laws from 72 hours to 30 days. Safe Haven laws give mothers in crisis safe options for their newborns. We also protect infants like Grace by making sure they have attorneys to help them move safely and quickly from child protection into safe and loving homes.
