Gen Justice CEO devotes life to strengthening rights for abused kids
Phoenix, Ariz. – Arizona Capitol Times has named Darcy Olsen, founder and CEO of Gen Justice, as a 2022 Leader of the Year in Public Policy for Social Services. The award recognizes leaders who contribute to the growth of Arizona and have a profound impact on improving the quality of life for citizens.
“Thank you, Arizona Capitol Times, for this honor and bringing attention to our work to end the violence against children. All children deserve to have the opportunity to live in safe and loving homes,” Olsen said.

She founded Gen Justice in 2017 with a foster baby in her arms and a mission to protect children, change laws and inspire people to ensure every abused child has a bright future. Five years later, Gen Justice has changed more than 30 laws across the country impacting 500,000 kids. The awardees will be recognized at an awards luncheon Sept. 27, 2022, at the Phoenix Art Museum.
